1. Editorial Mission
FlippaScam.com exists to publish consumer-awareness reporting, commentary, criticism, and analysis concerning digital asset listings, online business marketplaces, brokers, sellers, buyers, and related practices. Our aim is to identify red flags, preserve relevant information, and encourage independent due diligence.
2. Independence
We are editorially independent. Unless expressly disclosed, we do not publish sponsored reviews, paid endorsements, or compensated rankings. Any material relationship, sponsorship, affiliate arrangement, or other relevant conflict will be disclosed clearly and conspicuously. Clear disclosures matter, especially where they could affect how readers interpret the content.
3. Content Categories
Content may fall into one or more of the following categories:
- news or update posts
- investigative or analytical posts
- opinion or commentary
- reader-submitted reports
- rebuttals or responses
- corrections or update notices
- archival or historical summaries
Where practical, we aim to label content according to its dominant category.
4. Standards for Publication
Before publishing original editorial content, we aim to:
- identify the source or origin of the claim
- distinguish between facts, allegations, inferences, and opinions
- preserve relevant screenshots, archives, or notes where feasible
- seek corroborating material for serious factual claims
- avoid overstating uncertain conclusions
- allow for later updates if new evidence emerges
5. Use of Language
We aim to use precise language. We distinguish, where reasonably possible, among:
- fact: a statement we believe is supported by evidence
- allegation: a claim made by a source that has not been conclusively verified
- inference: a conclusion drawn from available facts
- opinion/commentary: an evaluative judgment, criticism, or impression
Strong terms such as “scam,” “fraud,” “fake,” “misleading,” or similar language may be used in opinion or commentary. When used, they should not be interpreted as asserting criminal guilt, legal liability, or a final adjudicated finding unless we expressly cite an official and authoritative source for that proposition.
6. Primary and Secondary Sources
Whenever reasonably possible, we prefer to rely on primary materials, including:
- listing pages
- archived copies
- domain records
- screenshots
- public filings
- official statements
- direct correspondence
- transaction records
- analytics evidence where lawfully available
We may also use secondary sources, including reader submissions, public discussion, reviews, and commentary, but we try to treat such material with appropriate caution.
7. Reader Submissions
Reader submissions can be valuable, but they are not automatically treated as proven. We may:
- verify portions of a submission
- request supporting evidence
- summarize rather than reproduce a submission verbatim
- decline publication where the evidentiary basis is weak or legal risk is high
- publish an edited or anonymized version where appropriate
We reserve editorial discretion over whether and how to publish third-party submissions.
8. Fairness and Right of Reply
When practical and appropriate, we may provide a meaningful opportunity for response to persons or entities who are the subject of serious criticism or factual allegations. A response may be summarized, quoted, appended, or published separately.
We are not obligated to publish abusive, threatening, irrelevant, repetitive, or unsupported responses.
9. Updates and Ongoing Developments
Listings, domains, transactions, and disputes can change over time. We may update articles when:
- new evidence becomes available
- an affected party provides credible documentation
- a listing is revised or removed
- a platform issues a response
- an error is identified
Where practical, material updates will be noted in the article.
10. Corrections
When we conclude that content contains a material factual error, we aim to correct it clearly and in a timely manner, consistent with our Corrections Policy.
11. Archival Preservation
Because listings and related materials can be changed or removed, we may preserve screenshots, archived copies, or extracts for commentary, review, criticism, or record-keeping. Preservation does not imply that archived content remains current.
12. No Guarantee of Outcome
Our editorial process is intended to improve clarity and accountability, not to guarantee that every piece of content is exhaustive, error-free, or conclusive.
